What inspires Ms. Beato to dedicate so much time to her Kids Dance Program/Company?
When I see kids/teens in the streets hanging out without a purpose, acting up, using foul language and disrespecting their elders, it reminds me of why I go to bed past midnight every night and why I try so hard to recruit as many kids as possible. I feel I may never get an award for all my hard work, headaches, heartaches, and stressful moments, but at least when people give me a compliment about their dancing, their grades and/or their behavior; I can be proud to say, that kid is part of my dance family
There are many factors to blame for our futures deterioration, But, the common denominator is non-supportive parents/family. Parents who do not involve their kids in cultural, extracurricular or any activity are contributing to this enormous problem with our future. Parent who don't support their kids in what they like to do and are not there for them when they accomplish something, are the main reason why kids get discouraged and feel like they are not worth much or good at anything. If your child does not end up to meet your expectations or follows a path different than the one you are gearing him/her to follow, you should still be there to provide him/her with support and encouragement. Your child will appreciate and remember the moments of support and these memories will help him/her make better decisions on right from wrong in the future.
What keeps me doing this?
1 month of salsa class - $10.00. A trip to a show - $30 +
The smile on my dancers face, when they are showing off their steps- Priceless
